I need to drill a hole to rout a gas pipe into the firebox of a masonry fireplace. Do I use a standard masonry drill bit? Is it better to drill the hole thru the center of one of the firebricks or at the seam between? Can drilling thru the firebrick cause damage.
I intend to drill from inside to out to make sure hole location is accurate.
