Why does gas seem to sqirt out of the vent on the gas cap of my gas hedge trimmer.? Is there any way to stop this? Is the cap bad.It seems to happen more when the trimmer is tilted one direction or another,which is a necessity when trimming shrubs and hedges.
This is an older trimmer and I do not know if parts are even available.

Sounds like a bad cap. The cap vent is probably bad or even gone.
