Hello, I have a 2 hp b&s that starts easy and idles nice but when i throttle it up it losses power and starts to pop at random through the exaust and carb.
any help would be greatly apriciated.

Post the Briggs Model No., Type and code numbers. they should be stamped on the flywheel cover so we can see what we are dealing with. Have a good one. Geo

Could be both a valve clearance issue as well as an ignition issue. The "pop" through the exhaust indicates ignition and a "pop" through the carb indicates a problem with the intake valve clearance. OR, you may have a sheared flywheel key and this alone would explain the trouble.
