I have a crack in my basement wall that has never leaked until we got a heavy rain two weeks ago. The house is 3 years old. My wife and I want to finish the basement with insulation, drywall etc.
I have spent some time researching what to do, going to hardware stores and talking to others. I think I want to use a foundation repair kit to seal up the crack. Does anyone have any experience using of of these? If so, did it work. And why can't you find these in hardware stores?

The crack isn't that big, so I don't think it's a structural problem that needs fixed. I just want to stop the water from leaking into my basement.

1.. thew crack cannot be properly repaired from inside, you will have to dig down and fix the crack from the outside.
2. Most basement water problems can be drastically improved or fixed by making sure gutters/downspouts work properly directing water away from the house. And the the grading around the house slopes away from the foundations.
