I have a closet under our stairs and thougt that it would be fun to turn it into a play room for my boy's that are 1 and 2. Any ideas on how? Pics would be helpfull. Thanks

Welcome to the forums! Unless you have an extraordinarily large staircase, the space under it won't make much of a play room. It would make a nice place to put toys, but two energetic children won't stay in it.

I saw on hgtv where someone did that. There was enough from for two little girlsl, some shelves and a little table and two chairs. You are limited only by the amount of space and imagination.

Under the stairs? Uhm, exactly how wide is your staircase? :-)

Could make a cute little nook for them
Have to leave the door off though
Can't close them in there w/o a fire exit (window or something)

When I was in high school I made a darkroom (photography) under the staircase at home. Being only 36" wide, it left just enough room for a 16" wide built-in shelf on two sides of the room that wrapped around in the shape of an L. The shelves held all the chemical trays and a small enlarger. There was enough room in there for a couple chairs- made a nice little hobby room for a kid. Even made some spare money in there developing black & white "accident pictures" taken by the investigators for our local State patrol troop hdqtrs!
Regarding fire escape, only bedrooms require emergency exits, to my knowledge. Lots of bathrooms have only 1 door, and no window large enough to escape. I see no difference.
