I want to go over an area (concrete slab) some covered by vinyl some covered by carpet. If I remove the carpet I guess the vinyl will be higher than the concrete.
Will the height difference be a problem? Or can I just go over the concrete/vinyl?
Thanks - p

I am wondering the same thing. I have one room that has carpet which will be removed. Next to that room I have 1/8" vinyl. It seems like the 1/8" is within the tolerances for flatness, but I wonder how that jump might affect joints in the vicinty of the rise. I was thinking I may have to use a thicker underlayment in the area without the vinyl. What are your ideas?

It turned out the vinyl was easy to remove so am down to the concrete. Good luck!!

You can't install the laminate over the carpet, so remove that. If you have 1/8" or less between vinyl and concrete, you are good to go.
