I'm trying to install Moen posi-temp faucet in fiberglas shower stall (new construction) using pex. As far as I can determine the only thing holding the faucet is the two escutcheon screws which doesn't seem stable enough to me . I can see no way to fasten the assy to a stud . Maybe some kind of strap? Thanks

Most faucet are held with metal pipe straps and nails/screws to a 2x in the wall for support. The straps are placed over several of the various pipe stubs sticking into the assembly. If need be, assemble the valve and piping to the 2x and then mount the 2x into the wall. It doesn't have to be glamorous, just functional. As long as its secure, you're good to go.

Yep. Definitely follow Forumla's advice. Alot of gus i see just use the plate to tighten the valve up against the fiberglass unit. Then down the road when it needs to be repaired and the palte is removed...the valve floats around in the wall and it hard sometimes next to impossible to get the plate back on.
