Helping neihbour...he has 3 concrete (solid) steps that leads to a concrete porch. He has made a cut to separate the porch from the steps. How much of the old steps does he need to take out. I was thinking as long as the new steps are approx. 4 inches thick before getting to any old step he should be OK??

Any good ideas?? Thanks for your help!
