has anyone had their windows or the glass in your door or sidepanels tinted? Was is professionally done or did you do it yourself?
Im just trying to see if its worth getting done, Ive done it myself before and the effect was great, less sunlight and less heat but it looked horrible, cause It was my first time doing it.

We've had it done both ways - DIY and pro. The first time, DIY, was on a big single pane picture window in a rental house. We learned fast that we had to take our time and do it carefully. I think it took a couple hours, but the difference it made was astounding. The second time we had a shop do it on double pane windows, mostly because half the windows were 10 ft up. It really helped cut down on the heat in the summer. Both times we only treated south-facing windows and again it made a significant improvement - neither home had AC and the window film dropped the temp to tolerable instead of unbearable. If the windows are in a main living space, and you are concerned about your ability to DIY I'd hire a pro... if anything you should get a warranty on the install.
