I have a generator thats been sitting for a while. It will crank, and run with the help of some carb/choke spray, but only while i'm spraying it. It won't stay running unless i keep spraying the carburator. Can anyone help? I really won't to get it fixed before hurricane season comes back.

I would definately guess carburetor issues but folks will need at least your engine model to better help you. Please post all your engine numbers. Let us know if you need help finding them. The more information posted the better.

Also need to know if it has overhead valves because if it does and the rocker arm studs have loosened themselves, the engine will do exactly as you have described.
