The shower unit in my basement bathroom is leaking. I think it is coming from the base drain. It has leaked under my linoleium flooring. what do I do?

Often the nut holding the drain together is not tight enough to squeeze the rubber O-ring. There will be 2 nubs on the top piece(not the stainless cover), use whatever will work, channel locks, adjustable, block of wood, etc to get force on those nubs and tighten, clockwise, but don't force it.
