Solid Hardwood, Engineered and Laminate Flooring - Brazilian cherry too red oak in one room?

I would like to install hardwoods on the first and second floors of my house but use two different species, dark on the first floor (maybe Brazilian cherry) and light on the second floor (natural red oak) the two floors will meet in the foyer. The foyer floor with be Brazilian cherry, the stairs to the second floor and the entire second floor will be red oak.

Do you guys think that will cause too much of a contrast? Will it look "weird" having two different hardwoods coming together like that in the foyer? I could leave carpet on the stairs and start the red oak at the top of the stairs on the second floor but I thought that would be strange as well, hardwood on the first floor, carpet on the stairs then back to wood on the second floor.
