I recently purchased a new house that was partially built and we were able to pick out the paint, cabinets, etc. Yesterday the contractor put up concrete brick on our house and I was under the impression it was going to be "real" brick. My questions are does this concrete brick cheapen the look of our new house and what will be some problems on down the road that I may experience with this concrete brick. I have already signed a contract but I was not told that concrete brick was going to be used so I may walk away from this house depending upon answers to these questions. Please help me out.

Unless it is ugly, there are no issues with concrete brick.

I don't think that it is ugly, but it is a lot brighter color of red than what a "real" red brick color would have been. Plus, it stands out from all of the other homes in the neighborhood. Do you think that after a few weeks, months, or years that the color of the brick will fade to a less noticeable red?

Concrete brick has been made for years and has performed well.
Many of the new production facilities for brick in the past few years have been built to produce concrete brick. Many are built by companies that also manufacture clay brick.
Some concrete brick can be very expensive, depending on the colors, textures, blends and aggregates.

The color won't fade much, if at all.
