Hi there! I'm ordering a faucet for my new kitchen sink and need some advice/opinions. Which brand is the better quality - Price Pfister, Delta, Peerless or Moen. Can anyone give me feedback on these? I also think I like the two handled models - any drawbacks to that as opposed to the one handled models?

Thanks for your input!

My opinion as a contractor:

Delta 470

I have less issues with this faucet for kitchens then i do any other brand/model.

As for single handle vs. 2 handle. Most people no days prefer the single handle with the spout itself being able to pull out and use a a sprayer or a regular spout. Their nice and work well. Plu they are easily able to change between 3 hole and 1 hole for installation.

Checked out the Delta 470 -- nice but a little too pricey for my checkbook!
:(

Well in that case....anything lower is all about the same. Just find something that fits your checkbook. Honestly..the quality isn't that different amongst the lower end stuff. Just find one you like and can afford. You can even try ebay for some good deals.

Between brands though.....the ones you all mentioned have decent quality stuff.

I still recommend the single handle pull-pull out type if u can fit 1 in your budget. You can find a MOEN one, which aint bad, for about $100 at HD.

I've got to go down to HD today and will check out the faucets while I'm there -- just wanted to know a little about the brands before I went. Thanks for your input. I know the pricey ones are undoubtedly better than the cheapies but I was thinking more about $50-$60 range. HD sometimes has some pretty good sales on faucets though so maybe I can find something a little nicer that fits my budget.

Thanks again.

Actually, your thoughts are wrong. The more expensive in plumbing definitely does NOT mean better quality. It is actually quite opposite in a lot of cirumstances heh. More money usually jus tmeans more complex, more parts to go bad, and more expensive parts to replace. As well as hard to find parts.

Although there is a limit to the madness. If your gonna go bottom line, $50-60 for a faucet..then just get whatever you like. Men and Delta will be the easiest to repair since almost every hardware store and plumber in the world carries those parts. Although when you get to a $50 faucet..we almost never repair em. It is just as cheap to just replace em...which is why i say just go for whatever you like.

[..then just get whatever you like.]

Love to hear those words! I just got one on ebay. It's a price pfister, but seems quite nice for the price - got a pull out sprayer (two handles) and a soap dispenser to boot! Got it for $53 including tax and shipping. Sells for $152 at Amazon! It wasn't my first choice but the auction on the one I really wanted wasn't over for 5 days and I need it before then -- couldn't wait that long. I'm happy! :)

Thanks for your suggestion! Worked out pretty darned good I'd say! Hope it works! LOL! Can't be any worse than the $10 job I have now (typical decision by previous owners!!).

Wanna see it??
