Should I measure my windows, order the product online, and have my contractor install them? I could probably save 3-4 thousand dollars this way! I am VERY CONCERNED that I won't properly measure them and they won't fit after they arrive. Is it WORTH THE GAMBLE? I also want to install a Woven Wood Panel Slider for the sliding glass window that leads out to the lanai. I am VERY CONCERNED about properly measuring this Panel Slider since it needs to be measured so the panels "park" to the left of the sliding glass door. Does anyone have any experience buying shutters etc off the internet and installing them themselves?
I would GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE!!

One thing to remember is not to measure for the shutters, but measure the exact inside dimension of the opening from side to side and top to bottom. Take these measurements to whomever you are buying the shutters from. They will add in the take up for the framing so you should have a good fit. Trying to give someone a measurement for their product is a disaster. Give them your measurements and let them do the math.
But, if you have fears about doing these measurements, have the manufacturer or a blind supply contractor do the measurements and installation. That way if they mess up it is on them. That is why you are paying extra money for it.
