Has anyone ever heard of this one? Everytime you flush the toilet, it makes the sound of a chiming doorbell. It's kind of cute and people think it's funny, but I'm worried there's something more going on. Anyone?

Probably have some debris inside your fill valve (rear left corner usually of tank). You can either turn the water off...try to take it apart and clear it....or buy a new one for about $7 at a hardware store and just replace it.

That would be my first guess and easiest.

Thanks for the reply. Our house was just built, so maybe in the construction phase some debris got in there. It's just weird to have a chiming toilet.

You are absolutely right with the construction crud. The valve probably needs cleaning, as well as all the strainers in all your sinks.
