I have a fireplace chimney that is falling away from our house and I am going to remove it. The chimney is 24ft tall and 6ft wide. My thoughts were to erect 5x5 scaffolding frames to work off of and use some type of concrete saw to remove the brick in pieces. Any suggestions on where to get scaffolding and saw and what brand saw blade would be appreciated.

There should be no need to use a saw for a normal brick fireplace.
Use a hammer and a mason's chisel and start on a corner at the top. Just pop the brick up and away from the mortar. You will be surprised how easy it is as you work down and around the chimney. Depending on the bond you may get some chunks of three brick, but can handle those easily.
Get a dumpster tp throw the brick into.
