Outdoor Power Equipment and Small Engines - Electrical Problem craftsman mower WC12H38AE

Hi can anyone help me with advice or a proper circuit diagram for this mower. A few weeks ago it just wouldnt start. I have checked all major connections, the fuse, solenoid and switch are all good so at least the motor should start from my reckoning. But all remains dead even the basic lights on the dash.. I know the voltage sensor is u/s but cant imagine that will stop it from starting. If I power straight to the starter it kicks over so it is earthed ok also. I have the basic schematic that comes in the manual but it isn,t a schematic and doesnt show what is interlocked. Has anyone any suggestions, is there a relay that I must replace that affects the starting?

Using a test light, do you have power to the solenoid? If so, to the key switch both incoming and outgoing?
