Have a Mercury 135HP Black Max motor which runs fine at home on a water flusher but when it's at the lake, it doesn't run good; bogs down. Has had the same propeller on since bought 2 years ago. Took to a mechanic who put on a new marine switch box and supposedly rebuilt the carbs. He said it would run like a charm, but think I've been had.

Any suggestions?!?! Can't get to the lake and fish!!!
Thanks

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a short in one of the iginition coils. It ran fine when it wasnt under a load. When in the water the coil would break down causing a short in one coil therefore not allowing the one cylinder to fire. Hope this helps.

Good Luck

I had the a similar problem. It turned out to be one of the ignition coils. It ran fine on a hose flusher. When in the water and under a load the coil would break down causing a short therefore not allowing one cylinder to fire. It was actually an easy fix but I did it on the water and kept checking the individual coils until I found the right one. Hope this helps.

Good Luck
