any response will be greatly appreciated my central unit is about 10 yrs old last summer had the unit charged worked fine through the rest of year worked fine for about 2 months this year came home one evening notice house was not cool and noticed outside unit not blowing only hear a buzzing sound inside unit .hope this is enough info is there any i can do myself to the unit to get the fan running . whats the problem thanks for any troubleshooting

Sounds like your not getting power to the outside unit. Check your breakers or fuses to the a/c unit.

I'm with the Boss. The buzzing is probably just the contactor pulled in calling for cooling but no high voltage present. Check you circuit breaker. If it's ok pull the disconnect outside and see if it is fused.
