Just removed part of a row of high bush cranberry bushes that over the past five years could not survive the viburnium worm or beetle, have cut the all back and will pull roots out, but..........I noticed there are many wood type vines growing from the ground that did in fact also do their share of damage to the bushes. Once the roots are dug out, what can I apply to the ground that will kill the vines and other similar matter? I would like to do it early so the ground can leach out and I get landscape it, plan to move some small pines to the area.
Any help, products you might suggest will be greatly appreciated.

Spray vines with brush killer. Some like to mix brush killer and Roundup. Once everything is dead, then you can till. Let soil rest for week or so to see what wants to sprout and hit the area again with your brush killer. Wood stemmed vines can be stubborn. On your second tilling, you can add amendments to soil. A soil test will tell you what you need to add. Your local Cooperative Extension Agent can help you with the soil test and recommend the best grass seed variety for your area.
