The bathroom floor to our 80's modular home is soft when you step inside the shower/tub. Also the walls around the outside of the tub itself are starting to show signs of wear. We are looking to do this project ourselves but not sure how to go about starting it. Which is the best way to start a project like this? Or would it be easier to hire someone to do it?

Hi, What would be easier? Of course hire somebody. But what fun would that be?

Ok so when you say soft when you step in the tub what do you mean? Is there give in the tub bottom? Do you have access below the tub so you can have a look to determine if you have a rotted subfloor? What about the walls, they are showing wear how? Is it tile or a fiberglass surround?
