We have a Lennox model 10ACC-042. The outside fan will not turn. Everything else "seems" to be working properly. After reading other posts here my husband turned the fan with a ruler (power off) and it turned. So we are thinking capacitor? Can anyone help with #1 What we need to buy to replace (as specific as possible) and approx costs for parts and #2 Instruction on what to do to replace and #3 Any other possibilities or solutions we should try first. My husband is handy but I am not...so as many details as you can give me will be greatly apperciated!!! I know I am asking alot but people here seem to be very helpful. Thanks so much!!!!

To see if it is the capacitor. You have to have power on and the unit calling to run. Then you give the fan a push. If it runs then .Then you just need a capacitor . If not then does the motor have power ? if so then its a new motor. Make sure you get the same HP the same RPM and it turns the same way CW or CCW. AND a new capacitor with it.

My husband turned the A/C on and tried to turn the fan. Nothing...so now what? How do I tell if motor is getting power? Thanks for the help!!

If the fan would not turn with the power on and hving been pushed with a ruler, the motor is bad. If it would turn but not run, maybe the motor, maybe not.
Does he have a volt meter, know how to use it, & not afraid to work on live electrical circuits (230 volts)?

Check the voltage of the fan motor ,the controlboard is bad if there is no 220 voltage, otherwise the fan motor is bad.

Guys this unit is listed as out of production on Lennox website in wiring diagrams.

Straight A/C, dual cap, and single power pole contactor.

No control board.
