I have a Bryant outside heat air combo unit. Model 564ANX042000AAAF. The filter and coils are clean. fans, blowers and compress all seem to be to be working properly to the eye. The coil cool enough to dampen but not freeze. The freon was charged at the end of last summer during and annual service. Evaporator drain is not clogged, but during the heat of the day it can not keep up. It is a large enough unit and works fine over night. Any ideas on what it could be?

Hello fsuraven sry to hear you are having problems. You mentioned in your post that Quote "The freon was charged at the end of last summer during and annual service." If you had some refrigerant added at that time it would be indicative of a possible system leak. You can do a simple check to help determine if there is a problem, take a temperature reading at your return grille face and then a temperature reading at the closest supply diffuser to the unit compare these two reading for the differential, it should be around 18f to 20f on a 80 85f outside day and the inside air around 70 72f If you have a real low spread say 10 or 12 you most likely have a problem that will need the attention of someone able to access the sealed system. (A LEAK) If you don't mind post back with your temp readings (if you decide to check them) it certainly is interesting to see those numbers.

At the outside condenser unit with if running. Feel the copper lines. The big one should be cold and wet the small one warm to hot. If not have a tech check the charge and be sure and look for a leaks. ;)

Sorry for the slow reply, Ed Imeduc it copper pipes cool enough to dampen but not freeze. Mr Fixit I do not have a portable temostat that has the range to check the differential, so I guess it means I need a pro. I really hate calling them in this area 2/3 will scam anyone not at least some what farmilar with HVAC. Then again I guess the is good to reward the company I use for being honest. Thanks for the help.
