I want to hook up my direct tv to some speakers outside so i can have the radio channels by the pool. What type of wiring to i need, do i need an amp? I need 150 ft of line to make the connection. How do i connect the speaker wire to the speakers? i know nothing.

You are going to need a amp.

You will have a set of audio rca plugs (red/white banana connectors) going from direct tv box audio out, to amp(receiver) audio in. From there, you get some basic speaker wire and plug them into your receiver and your speakers.

I'd consider a set of wireless speakers, or an FM trasnmitter and a portable stereo.

They will work with any stereo audio source, DirecTV included.
