I have an ITI Commander 2000 problem ... with the system disarmed, the panel announces every half-hour or so that it is in either level 2 or 3, but neither the "stay" nor "away" lights are on (and I did not put the system into level 2 or 3). I then enter the code to disarm again, the panel announces that the system is off, and everything appears normal until some time later the panel starts the erroneous announcements again. Pressing the status button reports no problems (unless perhaps a window or door sensor might be open, but that is normal).
Can anyone explain why this might be happening?

Hmmm, looking through the user manual and the installer manual troubleshooting guides, nothing like that comes up.
Are you _sure_ it's reporting an arming level and not something like a zone/device trouble?

Yes, I'm sure. It recently started doing this. I don't know why it keeps announcing it's in level 2 or 3. If I press the status button after the announcements, it says the system is off, and that all is normal (no battery problems, etc).

Since the Commander 2000 doesn't have an auto arm feature, the only thing remaining is that the cpu may be starting to fail. If the system has wireless keypads installed, sometimes these behave oddly on low battery (generating spurious signals).
