There are 3 ways to clean it. Vacuum, spray with water, or spray with aresol.
Is it a slant coil or an "A" coil.
And what makes you want to clean it? Other than the fact that it should be done every few years or so.

Purchased home two years ago, airfilter was plugged and duct work is very dirty. Family has bad allergies and I wanted to clean duct work and A coil. House is 30 years old and I thought I should clean the A coil before having duct work cleaned. I can see no way to access A coil other than removing it from furnace. Can that be done without disconnecting freeon lines?

If your loking at the coil, there should be a triangular piece of metal covering the hole formed between the two sides of the coil.
If you can get that out, without bending anything, you may get a vacuum attachment in there.
With the dirt your talking about you might concider a pro taking the coil and blower out and giving both a good cleaning while the ducts are being cleaned.
