Hey All,

I have NG run to my backyard. Most grills on the market and in the big box stores are LP. I saw a grill we really like...100% an Stainless steel at BJ's. Problem is that the grill is only sold in the LP configuration.

Is it easy to convert it to NG?

Thanks guys!!!

You would need to do two things to make the grill natural gas ready.

First, remove the regulator that would attach to a portable propane cylinder and attach the hose to your natural gas supply.

Second, you would need to remove each orifice (each burner will have one) and replace them with the proper size natural gas orifice.

The hardest part would be determining what the proper size orifice is. Each orifice is sized based on the btu's of the burner. You need to know the btu value of the burner and track down the corresponding size orifice. Chances are, these are not something you will find at any big box stores or hardware stores.

If you are looking for a good grill already set up for NG go to a Weber authorized dealer (not a big box that sells Webers as they get a very limited selection from Weber). All Weber's come in both LP and NG.If the dealer does not stock a NG version of the grill you like they can order it and have it within a few days from one of several distribution centers.Weber has a new line of grills with multiple options and should have something that will suit your needs and also be of higher quality than what is stocked in a big box or chain store.
