I have installed a 6160 keypad on a safewatch 3000 system. It has two wireless motion detectors. When I activate system in "Away" mode, I don't always exit the front door. The system then reverts to "Stay" mode and bypasses the motion detectors. This I don't want. I also activate "Away" mode at night. How can I change this?

Thank You,
Scott

I don't believe you can.

You should arm the system in MAXIMUM.

This will arm the whole system, including the motions. It will however, give you only 30-45 seconds before it actually arms. It will instantly sound alarm if a zone is tripped.

I'm not aware of the term "maximum", only "Away" and "Stay". Is there some other way to arm the system? Like I said, if I don't leave out the exit door that is triggered, then it reverts to "Stay" and bypasses the motion detectors.

Thank You,
Scott

Are you arming it with the door open?

No, system will not arm with door open, I am arming with no faults; however, I don't leave out front door, but through garage door. It thinks that I haven't left the house and goes into stay mode completely disabling the motion detectors.

Scott

Ah! That is the issue. You need to change the zone type for the garage door to an entry/exit door, then the system will no longer kick into auto stay mode (it's an anti false alarm feature, that _can_ be turned off, but it's not a good idea).

This is assuming that the door in question is on a zone by itself, and not mixed in with other openings. If so, the solution is a little more complicated.

You need the installer manual for your system. Vista-20p is the generic equivalent to a SW 3000.

Thanks for the help. I do have the safewatch manual. There is no contact on the garage door that I exit. Hence, I'm not triggering anything when I exit. I have one detector set up as a zone type 04 and another as a type 10 w/delay. The last mentioned is the one that detects intruders from the garage. I have it as a type 10 because sometimes I come in through the garage and not the front door.

Thank You,
Scott

Well, there's your problem; you do not have any device in your chosen exit path that is programmed as an entry/exit zone.

You have the choice of either adding a entry/exit contact to that garage door, changing the motion to a entry/exit, or turning off the auto-stay feature in *84.
