I apologize if this has been asked before, but I have a problem with my AC. It blows out cold air just fine but the unit itself keeps freezing up after being on less than 30 minutes which means my house cannot be cooled properly and it gets quite hot during the day and cooling at night is even futile because it freezes so fast.

Any ideas what causes stuff like this to happen?

It can be a few things that cause this.

I think it's low on charge.

Is the air filter clean?

When the last time both inside and outside coil had a good cleaning?

Is the fan moving it's full speed or fan blade clean?

Call a tech .He can put gauges on it and check the freon. Make sure he checks for any leaks.
