I am going to attempt to put down some hardwoods (nail down engineered) soon and have been reviewing the posts on this forum but have not been able to find any comments (good or bad) in regards to the Durawood brand and in particular their African Santos engineered flooring. I would like to know if anyone has any experience with this particular flooring, I would like to hear any comments good or bad. Some background information, the house I will be installing these floors in is my current home but is not a home I will be in for a very long time so I am not wanting to install "top of the line" flooring but I certainly do not want junk either. It will be installed on a slab with a plywood subfloor.
Also, in regards to a particular distributor I have read some pretty poor reviews of Lumber Liquidators. Unfortunately they are the company I am currently dealing with so I want to separate the company from the product. Most of the comments I have read so far basically just say "don't buy from Lumber Liquidators" but I am trying to figure out why people say that, is it because of poor customer relations (before and/or after the sale) or is it because they sell inferior products? Or maybe both. Can anyone please comment on why lumber liquidators is so bad; poor products, poor customer relations or both.
Thanks and sorry for the long post

Do a websearch, for LL problems or Dura wood problems.
I'm sure you will be entertained for months, reading the liturature.

I wish I had found this forum earlier! I can't even begin to explain my disgust with LL. I purchased and put down my African Santos last October. The floor it self looks pretty good, and I am happy with it..we got a good price on it too. HOWEVER, I still haven't gotten my reducers for it. LL promised me them by December, as they were going to have a local guy stain them for me. Well, back and forth on the phone we went, and long story short, they basically threw up their arms and said there was nothing more they could do. So now I've still got an unfinished project. Just wondering what you did for reducers, or where I could get some that would match, as apparently Schon dosen't makem em for the African Santos.
Thanks!
Jason

I have not yet purchased my flooring, still researching but I have decided to not use LL since everyone is so negative on them, even though they are less the 1/2 mile from my house. Instead I think I am going to buy from iFloor. They have a store about 1.5 hrs away which is still not very far. They have a product that may be similiar enough to yours to help you out with the trim pieces. This is most likely the flooring I am going to purchase, the samples should be arriving today.
Good luck

I checked out their website.. looks like that would be pretty close. I too have a store about 2 hrs away in Orlando that I may go check out.
Glad to hear you didn't go with LL. I think you saved yourself a big head ache.
Good luck to you!
