Using 2x10 Pressure treated lumber 16" O.C., what is the maximum distance I can cantilever out from my support beam?

Generally, 36" is the maximum allowed, and only when the back span of the joist will be at least twice that. Some areas only allow a maximum 24" cantilever, however. Blocking should be installed directly over the beam, and ties should be used to prevent uplift behind the beam (on the back span of the joists), since live load on the cantilever would cause the support beam to act like a fulcrum.
