Hi,

I've recently rented an apartment with two bathrooms that have marble tiles installed on walls and floor. The problem is that the landlord has for some reason not installed mirrors and medicine cabinets.

He has finally agreed to pay for the actual mirror and cabinet, but not for the installation. So now here I am tasked to do something I have never done before: installing them over an already-tiled wall.

If anyone here has the know-how or can link me to a place that discusses this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

It is his place not yours, he should pay for the installation also. Since it is his place, be very careful what you do, he may end up charging you for it at some point.
The safest way is to do a surface mount screwed into the studs. Recessing the cabinet is better but not for a novice, and you never know what might be inside the wall. Wires/pipes, etc., and there is usually stud cutting involved.
