I have a kenmore 80 series direct drive washer. It filled with water and then stopped, started humming and then the breaker shut the machine off completely. I took off the pump and motor and the coupler looks great. I then tried to turn the agitator manually and it turned a couple of times to the right and the left and then stopped. I've been working on this all day yesterday and this morning, mother of 6 I don't know how much more time I want to put into it.

Please advise,

Can the motor still drive the drain pump, if you let it fill with water and advance it to drain?...and also to the spin cycle to where the basket spins? We have to discern if the motor itself is locking up or if the transmission engagement of the agitation cycle is where the lock up is.
