Hello all can someone give me a clue to see what is bad on my Whirlpool LCS8244DQ0 washer? This washer is about seven years old but it looks brand new. I could hear the motor spinning but this washer uses a gear type transmission to spin the agitator and it seems to have a broken part but if someone could gear me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks for any help guys!! And keep up the great work.

Sounds to me like the hard rubber block connecting the motor to the transmission, a deliberate fail-safe in the design.
The instructions to R&R it will be on the package from the appl. parts store, or - they'll tell you how. Not rocket science - you can do it.

It is called a "coupler". I changed one for my neighbor this last year. I'd rate it a do-it-yourself job. Not that much stuff to undo...if that is your problem. You can actually see it if it is off, out, broke. These are equivalent to the principle behind a 'shear key' in lawnmower engines, or couplers in oil furnace motor-pumps.
