Toilets, Sinks, Showers, Tubs and Disposals - want to move toilet

I have a old house that has upstairs bathroom at different height than rest of the second floor. I will be raising the floor about 8" in bathroom to match the rest of the floor. While I do this, I want to slide my toilet about 5", keeping it same distance from wall behind it. what is the best way to do this? I was hoping to just put something on the top of pipe to shift it (I will have 8" of height to play with). Or do I have to do major work behind the walls?

Unless this bathroom and toilet was installed long after the house was originally built I think you would have a major project on your hands in moving the toilet.

Older homes have cast iron bell-and-hub sewer/drainage pipes and often the toilet has just a lead pipe extension (called a closet bend). Moving the cast iron and re-doing the lead extension is certainly doable but it is not a small job by any means.

I assume the toilet was installed long after house was built. The house was built in 1900. The sink in that bathroom has pvc pipe for supply and drain. The tub has pvc supply lines also so I think the toilet has pvc, but not sure. The supply to the toilet is copper-actually better scrape some paint off to verify. I have to get into my crawlspace to look at main drain. I think it is pvc up to point where it exits house then is lead

They don't make a fitting you can glue on to shift it 8" and you don't want to cut off the vent anyways so it isn't really doable. Only way is to cut the closet bend (90) off and actually use a long sweep or a couple 45's with a short piece glued in between to turn the run the direction you want to go then put on a new 90 where you want the toilet to be.

thanks for reply. Note that I only need to shift it about 4"-5", not 8. 8" is the amount that I am raising the floor and in that 8" I want to shift it 4-5". I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Do they make any kind of offset fitting and if so how much does it move it?

They do make an offset flange.....but it only shifts it 1.5"
