The toilet tank is taking FOREVER to refill. I am presuming it needs a new flush valve. The water is turned all the way on. Is there anything else it COULD be? Is there something else I should check or replace first?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Assuming you are definately replacing the flush valve and thereby eliminating any part of it,the only other likely source of the problem would be in the supply valve under the toilet which could have a loose or detatched washer in it blocking water flow.To check you can take the supply line loose at the toilet end, open the valve and let water flow out of the line (have a bucket with you) to see if the flow is blocked or reduced.
Also if this toilet is older and has an older chrome or plastic supply line you'd do yourself a favor by replacing it with the new ballcock as they often won't reseal properly.Switch to a stainless mesh type.
This will also allow you to check the supply valve's condition and determine if it too needs replacement.
Go to a real hardware store not a big box where they have qualified sales help to assist you and give instruction.

I'm confused...were talking about a ballcock i assume not a flush valve correct?
Flush valve is part flapper attaches to and water goes to bowl...ballcock is valve in real left that has a float on it to turn water on and off to fill the tank.

Gotta remember we're dealing with homeowners who don't always get terminology right....30 years in retail hardware long ago taught me that.I went with the assumption of it being the ballcock but probably should have added in some definition correction.
In stores I've worked I've probably heard a customer use the term flush valve correctly maybe 10% of the time.

I'm the one that should be called a name lol....
Very different instructing via text versus conversation. In a retail environment usually these issues come out in discussion.
From now on I think site should be psychic.Everyone stare deeply into the monitor as you type.lol
