I can get the fan to run with a stick. So I think the cap is bad for it, but the compressor won't come on. Is it cause its low in freon? Or something else? Please help.

Check the start run cap. it sounds like it is bad.

Does the one cap work both the fan and the compressor? This model was made in 97.
