I have a Trex Deck, but the railings are made of wood. The contractor instructed me to use a primer and then paint the railings with a white stain. I did this, however, the deck is now peeling off the paint in leaps and bounds! I used a latex paint. People have said I should have used an oil based stain. Is this my best choice? Can I put oil based stain over latex?
