Hello billyboy33 and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and to the Gas Appliances topic.

First off, let me ask you what a hob is??? Out this way, some of us may not have a clue what a hob is. I'm one of them. Kindly advise.

Usually, manufacturers instructions should be followed. However, local codes may alter or supersede Mfg's instructions. Much is based upon the type of appliance, the installation location, etc. Again, knowing what a HOB is would help.

Use the reply button and clarify definition and description of appliance type and what it is used for. Examples: Stove for cooking, range for cooking, oven, BBQ, space and or area room heating?

After a quick Google search, it appears a "hob" is, what we know on this side of the pond, as a cook top.

Billyboy, it is common stateside to connect an appliance such as this with a flexible gas connector. To be honest with you, I don't know a darn thing about European installations. Like Sharp said, consult the installation manual.

If you have your model number, you can Google for appliance parts. There are many websites that sell them. Try this link: http://www.partselect.com/Electrolux-Range-Parts.htm Another option is to talk with a local appliance repair person. They can order parts for you if you want to DIY.
