Hi, I have an Amana washer - not sure how old but not that old. It seems to be agitating ok - except if I open the lid while it's going and then it gives me the same problem as when it reaches the rinse and spin cycle. Basically, it buzzes really loud and then won't rinse/spin and sometimes agitate. If I leave it off for awhile it will either turn back on or it will buzz again and then turn off. Sometimes I have to leave it off for a day to get it to turn on again. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'd electrical meter test the lid switch first.
