New construction - new appliances. About 2 month after we moved in, my wife and I noticed an annoying hissing sound when the dishwasher fills with water. The hissing sound does not occur when the dishwasher is initially started - it occurs during the wash cycle, regardless of the cycle type. To further clarify, the hissing noise almost sounds like a "muffled" tea kettle whistling.
It's under warranty - I had the GE "clowns" out three times (no further comment). I have the builder out almost weekly (I'm convinced GE is paying them off). We thought this was the "quiet" dishwasher - not when it is getting a drink.
Any ideas on what suddenly caused this sound and more importanly how to fix it. I read that someone ran a gallon white vinegar and hot water through their DW and that fixed the problem.
