I've got a subfloor that is partical board. I had wanted to lay hardwood, but have been told by a hardwood instalation company that it is impossible to lay hardwood on this type of plywood.

What are my options??

Will hardwood install without removing this subfloor??

Can I even lay tile with this type subfloor?

Help, I've been living on plywood for far to long.

for hardwood, it will have to be removed & replaced with plywood.

You havn't provided enough info. Where is the floor? will it stay dry? How thick is the particle board? Are you sure you are not talking about OSB Oriented Strand Board instead of particle board? Your post uses the phrase"I am tired of living on plywood" Particle board is not plywood. How much area to be covered?
