Hello,

I have a couple of questions regarding an install.
1) Is Tempstar a good brand?
2) I was considering doing my install myself, but an acquaintance quoted me $8,000 for the following:
-3.5 ton Tempstar 14 seer outdoor unit
-Tempstar 80% - 75K BTU, 2-stage furnace
-Evap. Coil
-Ductwork Replacement
-New electrical circuit from main panel to outdoor unit
-disconnect
-new digital t-stat
-return register re-location and enlarging
-re-location of furnace into attic(to gain new closet space)
-running of refigerant lines

I currently have central heating with no cooling. This would be a complete new install plus new flex ducts. Was just wondering. It would be nice to let someone else do the install if the price is good. Thanks.

8k sounds cheap to me!

Price sounds reasonable, but would get more estimates, at least 3. Sometimes having an aquaintence do an install is not the right thing to do.
