Hello,
I just turned on the A/C for the first time this year and the blower wont kick on. I can hear the outside running and the hose going into the bottom of the furnace is very cold, but the blower won't turn on when I turn it on at the thermostat. If I put it on heat it works just fine, but on cold it won't even turn the fan on. This is a 3 year old unit. Any ideas what this might be? Thanks

Could be a bad relay or a bad stat. Was the stat replaced recently? Does the blower turn on if you set the fan to "on" instead of "auto" at the stat? Further diagnosing would be difficult without a meter.

I called the tech and he found out it was a bad relay, you were right Jim. An easy $100 fix that was (thanks goodness) still under warranty. He said that I had some sort of power surge and that knocked it out. A very common thing her in my home town of Springfield, Mo where we had the very bad ice storm in January. The power was out everywhere for a few weeks, and everyone was hit hard for quite a while. Thanks for the reply Jim.
