Hi-
Thanks for a great forum. I searched the threads but couldn't find anything related to finding replacements sensors for my Simon Version 2. Is it just a matter of replacing the batteries in these? The unit is a few years old but the control panel is only saying there is a failure with one particular sensor. I would like to add a few sensors as well- especially the water sensor they have for the basement that alarms you to flooding in the basement(when you're out of town). Any advice on where to buy reasonably priced sensors? Thanks a lot.

The batteries last about 3-5 years, so it's probably just a battery. Shop for them online like any other electronic device, some vendors are cheaper or better than others. I don't buy security parts from such direct channels, because our company gets them from wholesale distributers, so I have no dealings with these direct sellers.

The simon panels are one of the easiest panels to program new sensors into. You will need the programming manual for the zone types. All you have to do is open the panel cover and enter the installer code defualt is 4321. From start menu select 'add', then choose sensors. I pulled one of these panels out of a conversion I did and it was so easy to program it I decided to use it to monitor my outdoor shed.
