i have a craftman model 9172772021 riding mower with a 16.5 h.p. kohler. every time i go to mow and let out on the brake it will die.like it runs out of gas

Sounds like your seat switch may be at fault.

I have checked the seat switch still does the same thing

How did you check the seat switch. Sears site says your model number is not valid..?
I dont know of a test for the newer type seat switch. You can not just use a jumper.

It explains (in great length) the reason why the seat switch likely is the problem even though it checks out good.

Oh yeah...I forget that a lot of the AYP mowers with Kohlers have those 3 relays. Glad you got it fixed. Thanks for the update.
