We sanded my friends floor with 36,60, 80 grit. I then stain the oak floor (about 2 wide) the next day.I did some touch ups and gave it a second coat the another day ,let it sit for 20 hrs with a fan running (back and forth) all the time.I was looking at the floor and it looks like the stain is bleeding out is spots. What would cause this.I'm going to wait another day before I poly the floor.

It is never a good idea to apply more than 1 coat of stain. For the most part the 1st coat of stain seals the wood making it difficult for the wood to obsorb more stain.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'the stain is bleeding' Not all the wood will obsorb the same amount of stain. That's why we stain to see the beauty of the wood and not paint it to be all 1 color. It also may be that since you applied a 2nd coat of stain some of it was unable to be obsorbed by the wood and is just laying on top - the stain in these areas might lift when poly is applied :eek:
