I am in City of Fremont, CA. I am trying to find a type of umbrella drain for a glass vessel sink which doesn't have overflow. I found there are two types around in the market. One is umbrella or grid drain, that water cannot be ever plugged. The other type is called umbrella drain with push button closing, which has an option to close the plug.

I would like to know what's the pumbing code requirement on drain for those of vessel sink w/o overflow in Bay Area, California.

Thank you very much for advice.

OK, I just checked the City of Fremont, I have been told, they don't have special plumbing code, they just follow California's plumbing code. So my question for the previous inquiry should be asking for plumbing code of California.
