Commercial sheet vinyl.

Floor coverings with gaps provides opportunity for urine to get beneath the flooring. Sheet vinyl provides a smooth surface that can be easily cleaned. If pets are having a problem, perhaps the vet can rule out underlying physical problems. You can post questions about pet problems in the Pet Forum and get tips on how to train cats to use the litter box.

So durastone tile wouldn't be good even though the salesman said it's glued so alittle urine wouldn't matter.---I do cat rescue and it's more emotional than physical!--and some do miss the box alittle---I love it-my rescue and TNR'ing, but I have to start cat-proofing. As a matter of fact I wish I had an aquaintance's number--she had a contractor in Pennsyvania who designed her whole house with a very durable material---one I never heard of for walls, floors etc.

Anyway, can't move so I am looking to improve so it's easier for me. I currently have a wall to wall wool---and the corners are starting to go--so I thought I'd get some sort of laminate or vinyl, and biNd the carpet and throw it over--as I live on a slab--a Levit house--sO CAN YOU TELL ME IF THE SALESMAN WAS CORRECT AND SAID SHEETS OR TILE IN VINYL DOESN'T MATTER?

Liquids, urine or water, that penetrates gaps between vinyl tiles tends to cause them to lift. Too, trapped urine will result in odor problems. A smooth, inpenetrable surface is best for dealing with pet urine.

Actually Durastone, may take the abuse.

It is either grouted, or seam sealed if a gappless block pattern is chosen.
